Macca! 14 Years, 7 Months ago
How many times did Macca mention Denny Laine (the 'other' musician involved) in his commercial (I mean 'documentary') on 'Making of Band On the Run' on itv tonite?

Thats right - not once. Yes he got a mention in the commentary, cos he was around quite a lot.But Sir Paul didn't acknowledge any input - even tho he was the only other musician there. Did he not make any?

what did he do wrong? Details please!

Industry insiders please enlighten!

& I love Macca...!

Wasn't it something to do with him and his then wife selling unflattering stories to the papers? Denny got himself into some financial problems and resented Macca dropping him from Tug of War, so he started 'using' the association to earn a living. I think.

That programme was a bit depressing. O'Leary was either shockingly badly briefed or a spectacular creep, or both ('I really always thought Linda had started out as a musician'), and Macca was wearing some sort of ill-fitting donkey jacket and his hair was, er, badly arranged. At least he's finally dumped that silly affected habit of finishing every sentence with a rising inflexion. I do like him though, in spite of it all.

Wasn't the vocal on Go Now (Moody Blues - lead singer then - Denny Laine) one of the greatest ever?

Miss Minge is correct;O'Leary was quite shockingly poor, with a hideously unpleasant laugh. The programme was a massive plug for the re-release of Band on the Run , on sale today.
Interestingly , there were no ads in the commercial breaks in this programme until the 3rd one in , when surprise ,surprise, an HMV tagged 30 second for the album showed up.
