I'm not convinced. I thought he was very average, and, as I'm sure you know better than I do, if you don't click with the market, then it just doesn't happen. JK, how many acts have you worked with, who you believe you've found the right song, the right production and the right pr machine, but it just doesn't cross-over?

Simon's big advantage is he can give up on a act earlier than some do, as he knows another bus load are just around the corner.

It's a catchy song, but I doubt it would have been any more a hit for Joe than any of the other tracks off his debut album.

Yes I must say, GG, they got the inches in the tabloids for Bieber but no decent real hits - but even the fake mini hits were better than nothing.

I don't think you can blame reality TV or Cowell for that matter.
His type have always been around. Ask The Reynolds Girls about being tossed on
the scrapheap. The real failure is with other labels being unable to sign artists
they like and stick with them through thick or thin. It's no longer about the music
anymore.

It never was J&B - but the system worked; the truly best often broke through and were then made the most of; I think we seem to have lost the way of spotting and spreading new talent; hopefully Me Me Me will illustrate one way of doing it.
