well done Ms Bush!

A very beautiful album and an unexpected step, re-interpreting songs from The Red Shoes and The Sensual World when many fans hold the original recordings as 'sacred'. Some of the new versions are just tinkered with while others are radically re-worked. The great thing is that, listening to it, it sounds like a new album. 'Song of Solomon' in particular is stunning.

And the plethora of interviews.... just 2 for Aerial in 2005 and this year you can't move for Kate Bush interviews.

You can listen to the album streaming here (totally legal, it's American Public RAdio):

Kate Bush is no.12 in this week's Fab Chart. I've heard it a few times and it's starting to grow on me.

After the initial shock of the new versions this album is really growing on me. However I still don;t get the bizarre sludgy riff-heavy new 'Rubberband Girl'.

Interestingly I actually do like Rubberband Girl, which I had always thought the weakest track on the Red Shoes. I love the thought of Kate Bush jamming at the end of the album

A favourite of mine, one which is tinkered with rather than radically altered is 'And So Is Love'. I like the subtle changes to the lyrics which indicate a contentedness with life as opposed to the sadness of the earlier version.

Most definately, a tremendous song. I don't like Kate Bush's singing generally but willing to try her new album.

And whatever I think, really glad to see her have current success. So much better than Adele et al.
