One of my favourite ever songs - I remember falling in love with the original as a promo disc... I hate the Sammy Davis version (he couldn't sing - danced great tho'). Always think of Stephen King (Green Mile?) when I hear it. But Jerry wrote it and the "his dog up and died" bit is fantastic. And the break in his voice at "let go a laugh".
