They're from king's heath in Birmingham,I saw them a few times before they became famous.However their style of reggae was never really my thing,so I lost interest in their later work.
I did however always think there were too many members to be an economical outfit...same as Wizzard etc.
They did do me one favour though back in 1983.The video below was shot in a pub i used to use,closed these last few years,this is great for reminding me of it

They were always a bit of a cabaret band for me. The vast majority of there hits were cover versions. If you don't write your own songs and have 7 members in the group, you're rarely going to make much money.

I still don't know how they could be bankrupt they made enough money what did they invest in ? I never liked there style always thought they were a rip off to The Clash.

ironically i worked for their american accountant in the nineties and I will tell you it cost them a bloody fortune to go on the road...didn't seem like there was much room for profit at all. I'm guessing as the years went on the interest went down the tubes with the profit

Roy Wood has a solo date in November at Bilston, 9near Wolverhampton), and is touring the UK Arenas in December as part of the "QuoFest" tour - along with Status Quo and Kim Wilde.
