How long will Doug Morris last after Howard Stringer has stepped down next spring?

Sony's Stringer steps down as president, CEO

"Troubled Japanese tech giant Sony's president and CEO Howard Stringer is to step down, the firm said Wednesday as it looks to staunch four years of losses in the face of fierce competition.

Sony has been assailed on multiple fronts, with mobile phones challenging its key games division -- the scene of an embarrassing hacking scandal -- huge losses in televisions, and piracy threatening its music and film assets."

To answer my own question: not long.

"Sony Music septuagenarian CEO Doug Morris was reportedly called to Tokyo recently to discuss the sale, which Sony brass is rumored to want within the next year. Sony does intend to keep the publishing properties, which they view as a cash cow annuity. The publishing arm is run by Marty Bandier and is completely separate from records."

What's next?
Will Bertelsmann take over Sony Music? Or will Edgar Bronfman jr buy the last major label he hasn't owned before?

Goodness me, all the corporations I've been involved with falling away - Decca, Jive/Zomba, BMG, Sony, EMI - where will it all end?
