There was a fascinating BBC2 'Wonderland' documentary last Monday on the finalists from the last 'New Faces' contest. Amazingly, one of the fallen starlets lamented the absence of a Simon Cowell back in those days: 'We didn't even get any prize money. If only he'd been around to back us financially'. And so the Faustian saga goes on. They'll never learn.
