Watching Nile Rodgers on BBC Brekkie 13 Years, 6 Months ago
I wonder if he remembers meeting me as a young man, with Bernard, in my local Bangkok Cuisine in New York when I gave him a note to give the boss of Atlantic Records Jerry Greenberg.

They had just signed to Atlantic as CHIC and thought they were going to be overlooked. As the No1 act on Atlantic at the time was Genesis I gave them a note and introduction to Jerry. They much appreciated it being just young, hopeful, innocent kids.

I would encourage everyone to read his new book Le Freak, and his blog. Quite inspiring.
Nile is a phenomenal musician and person and frankly a huge influence on my musical life. He is the "Godfather of Groove" if I may claim to coining that term for him. So influential in so many ways...bringing in Stevie Ray Vaughan to play on Bowie's Let's Dance in 1983 was visionary and the album helped bring back the record industry. There would be no Duran Duran and so many other bands without Chic.
I've long suggested that Miles Leonard should get Kylie together with Nile and attempt to do something substantial. I mean who better?
The first CD I ever owned when there were very few CD's even available in the early 80's was a Japanese import of Chic, which I paid about fifty dollars for in NYC. A lot of money then.
