Ahh, sarcasm , the final refuge and defence of JK, Piers Morgan andthe other thoroughly irritating clever dicks who think they know it all.
The "Old model" needs overhauling not least because there are 3 businesses in our record industry, the young tear the walls re-invent everything one , the mass market Adele one and the grey buying catalogue and the occasional left field item -Robert Plant/Alison Krause.
The biggest problem is the retail one for any kind of physical purchase.Simon Fox at HMV looks like he may be addressing it correctly in 2012 by going back to selling music not T Shirts.
And for the record , The Military Wives represents something rather admirable , charming and comfortable about Middle England. Don't knock it, and never never knock our armed services.
You're only here to score points, and it's getting a bit jaded.
Move on,the world is an exciting enough place to have to waste time on this.
Merry xmas to ye

Ooh flouncy flouncy flouncy! Off to join the army and kill people, Dodger?
David - we always knew the iTunes placing would drop but all the remixes are solidly in their Top 100 and, combined, Alex is at No4 on the Official Chart Midweeks - and hopefully will at least stay Top Ten if not Top 5; pretty good for a first single.
His sales are pushing 40,000 in the UK alone ("going backwards as I predicted" - the late unlamented Dodger) - many more around the world - it's charted in Sweden, Ireland, Canada, New Zealand, the USA and many other territories. Will almost certainly top 100,000 in its first week.
Yeah - we're not on Universal or championed by Chris Evans or Moylesy or Simon Cowell but I think Alex can hold his head up with pride and joy.
It's certainly been a damn good Christmas for him.

I agree JK, even if it just gets top 20 it makes a really good point.
I've followed your Sons of Admirals chums off and on and they are talented chaps with engaging personalities (hence why the youtube blog-style approach is great.
It's not the best written or best produced song technically, but it's damned catchy and oozes positivity, and sometimes that's actually more important in my opinion.

My very very last last post (not flouncing in feathers and sequins I'll be back). I suppose I'm one of the sycophants blue refers to. However I've always had the urge to call JK a wonky faced egomaniac!
Having said that I find it quite staggering that there are people here who feel they know enough about the media to give him advice. That's akin to sitting Paul McCartney down and giving him tips on how to write hit songs, or advising Alex Ferguson on the best ways to manage a football team.
I dare say that JK has been relatively more successful than most here in promotion, media and peddling hits.
Right I'm deffo off this time.

We're happy to hear different opinions Blue Boy but equally people are welcome to flounce off in a blaze of feathers and sequins if they so wish.
Jk, You've missed out a piece of the process, what has been happening is :
1 - Different Opinions expressed
2 - One of the regular contributors disagree and tell the person to leave
3 - They flounce off in a blaze of feathers and sequins
Here's what Innocent Accused posted earlier in this thread " You're only here to score points, and it's getting a bit jaded. Move on,the world is an exciting enough place to have to waste time on this. Merry xmas to ye"
BB you're taking things out of context, and as such will not get full enjoyment of your time here as a result.
The move on reference was for this topic, not out of the board. Also Jk never told him to leave, just joked about his dramatic exit.
There is a fine line between honest debate, and point scoring. In my view he crossed over the line, but that said I actually took the trouble to invite him to stay.
I'm sure your grievances have been noted, but remember this is JK's board, and as such we must expect it to reflect his likes and opinions.
The net is a big place, and finding comfortable places is not so easy.So it's worth looking after them when we do.
Happy xmas to ye sir
