Elsewhere on the Social 50 chart this week, British singer-songwriter Alex Day strides in at No. 47 thanks to the buzz generated by his single "Forever Yours." The track is in the running to debut in the top five of the Official U.K. Singles Chart this weekend (Sunday, Dec. 25) and has a shot to be the "Christmas No. 1" (a very big deal in that territory). His YouTube channel is currently the third-most subscribed of all time in the U.K., while his "Forever" clip has claimed more than 2 million views.

As discovered by Billboard, Alex is selling in every territory; OK, he'll probably peak at 100,000 sales globally but that's excellent or a first release. Apart from the fact that it earns £50,000 after deductions - not a lot for a major label but nice small change for a 22 year old - it creates a global base for the future. Whereas the Wives won't sell a copy outside the UK (except perhaps Afghanistan) and Little Mix is dead in the water with Syco's A&R (we don't see Olly Murs or Steve Brookstein or that little Scottish lad or any others selling a copy outside Britain - with the single exception of one Leona Lewis hit and a bucket of Boyle) - it's a truly international base for Alex Day.
