TOPIC: Lana Del Pay
#79704
LDR

Lana Del Pay 13 Years, 4 Months ago
Who’s behind the massive hype machine pushing the distinctly mediocre Lana Del Ray? I’m sick of hearing just about every radio & TV presenter referring to her as amazing and blatantly selling us her music. Even BBC News has an article on the recording of her album today.

How have they got in everyone’s pockets?

Apparently a very rich Daddy; she's not what she claims to be.

With a little help from a very rich Daddy, Rick Nowels, Jimmy Iovine & Lucian Grange (and two or three good songs).

All makes sense now, thanks for the info.

And how about the film The Iron Lady? That's had an unprecedented amount of publicity, just about every news programme, magazine, newspaper & chat show have hyped the sh*t out of that one.

What does she claim to be?

"Lizzy Grant looks like any other young artist hoping to get their big break by performing in bars in New York city.

Dressed casually in a baggy green t-shirt and faded jeans, the shy young hopeful has an inspiring voice despite her unremarkable style.

But Lizzy Grant never got her big break, her one album flopped.

Fast forward two years and Lizzy has transformed into Lana Del Rey; a 25-year-old sultry, seductive songstress who has taken the music industry by storm."

First time on national TV in the States:

Well she hasn't taken the "Music Industry" I work in by storm. This slop from the Daily Mail that pushes the brain dead Kardashian jackasses at every turn.

The only thing this poor act has taken by storm is the inveterate sub-culture of bought push that everyone in the entertainment industry doesn't want the public to know exists.

Have you seen some of the job titles at Wright's Lane in the last year? ....and those are legit.

Who is the VP of viral marketing again?

Lana Del Reys performance on SNL was as bad as it could possibly get. Want to know what's worse than the performance...

....the moron that let it happen.

The Beatles played 279 nights in Hamburg....262 times at the Cavern...a punishing live schedule beyond that in 1963......then they had their first appearance on national TV in the States.....and we are still talking about it 48 years later.

Im not quite sure why LDR is attracting quite the vitriol she is - regardless of a rich daddy or poor SNL performance (actually nowhere near as bad as the press makes out), all that matters in the end is that "Video Games" was by some distance the best track released last year, the first song in literally years to stop me in my tracks and make me listen out for who it was so I could track it down later...

Haven't got the album yet, but the 3 other tracks I've heard all sound fine to me...

(IMHO etc.)

I became aware of the Video Games track from hearing radio DJ’s talking about it, reading it on Facebook, Twitter and other places online, hearing TV presenters commenting on how wonderful it was and reading it in offline material as well.

I was intrigued to hear it but when I finally did I realised I’d heard it numerous times before.

Very basic vocal melody, uninspiring lyrics, boring voice and equally drab production. What more do you want the entire country to be raving about?

IMHO.
