Today is my father's birthday and this is his favourite song of all. He remembers this TOTP from 1974. It looks like they knew how to have fun in those days.
Did you know that the guitarist (the one who appears to be wearing a dress !) is Rob Davis ...now a very successful songwriter (he wrote Kylie's Cant Get You Out Of My Head, amongst many others) ?
Mud were a fun band, and that is the best copy of it I've seen on youtube, thanks for the link and happy birthday to your father.
They were more successful than many realise in their mid 70s heyday. 'the band had fourteen UK Top 20 hits between 1973 and 1976, including three number ones' wiki.
I believe drummer Dave Mount was known to some on here, and he sadly passed on a few years back,as did lead singer Les Gray .
The current MUD (were called Les Grey's MUD until he died, and now are called MUD2) have been together for longer than the original line-up. They keep in touch with Rob Davis and Ray Stiles.
