It's better than his last effort but it doesn't do it for me.

A very bland effort, I doubt if many will get too excited about it other than the current fanbase. Alex needs to up his game if he is to cross over to the mainstream.

a couple of guys were talking about this at school that they thought the original version was better - Until then I thought it was an original - so I went on youtube to check it out. Either way it's not a brilliant song, but any new version should at least be better than the last.

Hmm at first it didn't grab me. The video could be better.
But I like Alex and the song is growing on me. Where are the harmonies?
I heard the original and the harmonies really make the track.

So far it seems to split opinions David - some love it; some hate it; most (as with every hit) feel in between.

Global smashes usually have millions more loathing them than loving them - the secret is to reach those millions. Flops nearly always provoke "meah" reactions - everyone thinks they are OK.

I always said - the haters don't count (it's just not for them; others will be). Only those who love something so much they want to buy/download them count. If you can find enough of those - it's a hit.

Hi JK, not sure why you're asking the major labels to wake up. From what I read Alex turned the lot of the down
and they are pretty much able to rack up a lot of views on Youtube. However, with the way music is at the moment
they cannot give Alex the income he is earning at the moment unless he sells a lot of records and gets views into the 100 millions.
Why would anyone sign with a major label today? An efficient indie or management team can achieve a lot of success within the constrains
of budget and resources.

I'm telling them to wake up because the old model is broken and finances simply don't allow for the size and expenditure of those giant monolithic corporations.

Ahh cool that's me buying it then. I must say I like the way he sings the Lady Godiva hook.
He does not sing it very well from a technical point of view but more than makes up for it with charm.

YouTube has got to be every marketing person's dream - a free tool that, if used smartly and creatively, gets consumers eating out of your hand!

IF they like the tracks - which frequently don't sound like the music A&R makes - and then IF radio and TV decide to play them after they are hits (which they hate doing as it shows how out of touch they were in the first place - GOTYE being the current example... broken online; traditional media dreadfully late... no wonder radio ratings are dropping and DJs think the only decent programming is idiotic childish chatter).
