He got enough publicity from The Manfreds gig last year Paul Jones said he was rude to audience, manager, sound crew, stage crew and The Fortunes. They didn't go in to detail but one audience member said he was a horrible man that night I wish I was there that night.

While we're on the subject of sixties singers, I was amazed a while ago to find Clem Curtis from The Foundations wandering around the Co-Op in a small Buckinghamshire town, touting his own brand of Jamaican sauce! Quite surreal.

PJ Proby certainly comes across as a bit eccentric and... errm... difficult in Marc Almond's autobiography when Almond talks about the album he largely wrote and produced for Proby in the 90s.
But have a listen to this absolute cracker of a song from that album. Written by Almond and described by PJ Proby as one of the best things he's ever done. Whatever one might say about Proby, he has a brilliant voice.
