Woody Guthrie would be 100 today- excellent BBC documentary 12 Years, 11 Months ago
A quote from Woody Guthrie:

'I would like to see every single soldier on every single side, just take off your helmet, unbuckle your kit, lay down your rifle, and set down at the side of some shady lane, and say, nope, I ain't gonna kill nobody. Plenty of rich folks want to fight. Give them the guns.'

Fascinating documentary on Radio 4, very relevant to where we find ourselves today.

Absolutely agree there, Andrew.

Here's a great song.... a few years ago Woody's estate asked certain artists to cover his songs or complete his unfinished songs for an album. They approached people such as Billy Bragg and Janis Ian.

Here's Janis Ian's contribution, where she finished the lyric in a very personal way:

They even got Wilco Johnson to help with the project.
