I write and record at home, i have limited finances so can't afford to go into a studio. I have quite a collection of what i consider to be strong songs. I recently had some record company interest until they asked when would my demos be finished, i always thought if someone liked what you were doing they would take a chance on you. Myspace is all but finished, just wondered if anyone out there knows of any other free music hosting sites. I currently use Reverbnation but even that seems to be a little quiet of late.

Andrew - first, can you adapt your screen name as we have another long time poster here as Andrew.
Second; sadly your problem is a reflection of the general problem the entire music industry reflects; no filters, no powerful exposure places (radio and TV getting less impact for music).

We're trying to construct a New Model and have had some success with Alex Day. I suggest you read some of the (often conflicting) posts on that topic and check out Alex's videos on You Tube; our progress has been slow but sure.

Thank you for your reply. I really don't know how the music industry works anymore. It's frustrating both as someone who would like to be part of it and as a consumer. It's virually impossible to buy a physical cd single anymore. I have quite a collection of both vinyl and cds, part of the attraction of buying an album was the artwork and sleeve notes. I know we have to move with the times and downloads are the future it's just all very clinical and soulless.

Ps I'll check out Alex Day when i get chance.
