R.I.P. The KLF & music in general.... 12 Years, 9 Months ago
With the music industry in the state it's in and with records sales at an all time low what the industry needs is another KLF. Their unique take on music and the way it's presented would be welcome relief from over processed pop stars and reality show "winners". Although their album The White Room has dated since it's release it's still a stunning piece of work. From burning a million pounds to their shocking performance at the Brits in 1992 they never got boring. Only when they felt they may be boring their audience did they have the grace to step down, something todays stars don't seem to be able to do.

Regards

Andrew.

LOL, you have to be kidding me right?

The KLF ripped off the music industry for a bucket full of loot and got away with it. Their words not mine.

They wrote "The Manual" which detailed the formula to apply to get a number one hit in the #UK, basically "music by numbers", using every trick in the book to appeal to the masses. Creating the coolest sound they could by using "happening" producers and ripping off black underground beats.

They had no passion for music, they didn't contribute anything, the sold out in a very formulated and calculated way. They had the grace to step down? They quit when the money stopped pouring in!

Methods they employed and boasted about are still being used today, look at the crap we have in the charts, it's all about cool and has no substance. The KLF helped create the mess we're in!

As a huge KLF and Drummond fan (he asked me to manage KLF after The Brits) I'm on Andy's side.

The industry needs creative thinking, of every kind, and Bill and Jimmy were creative on every level.

The KLF would be the perfect Eurovision act for the UK - they had a huge Euro following, and would absolutely get everyone talking!

They were a brilliant group, who did talk a good fight, but had the records to back it up - Doctorin' The Tardis, What Time Is Love, 3AM Eternal, Last Train To Trancentral, Justified & Ancient, It's Grim Up North... all clever, all funny, all danceable, you can't ask for much more than that. And Chill Out is still a classic album...

There has been nothing as innovative and watch-able as The KLF for far too long. I did hate 2K "F**% the Millennium" though.
