TOPIC: New Bowie album...

New Bowie album... 12 Years, 5 Months ago
sounds much like old Bowie: Isn't it strange how the hit ingredient slips away? When did Elton last right a hit? Or the Stones? Or me?

Reminds me of one of his forgotten brilliant tracks/songs When The Wind Blows (for The Snowman?). A superb song and wonderful production: never a hit: utterly brilliant.

He's 66 this month. Happy Birthday David - two years younger than me? I remember those many times you sat on my floor singing me your new songs, hoping that one day people might have heard of you (you were Jones then).

very melancholy. From a man out of time (today, not in 1977)

Can't you just call him up to tell him these things? Seems a bit odd relying on him visiting your forum to read these messages.

"When The Wind Blows "was from the film of the same name.

He's 66 today in fact, this announcement was his "birthday present" to The World. I agree it doesn't exactly sound like a "I'm Back After 10 Years!" superhit, but the music world's changed immeasurably since he's been away, and hell, he's earned the right to do whatever he likes... great to have him back!

After three listens I rather like it but it does remind me of When The Wind Blows - one of my top three ever Bowie tracks.

It sounds like an outtake from the 'Hours' album. Not bad though.

From the artwork I see Wind was indeed a Raymond Briggs (Snowman) story and Bowie was also in the original Snowman film.

The wonderful single peaked at 44 and should have done much better. Anyone else agree with me it's one of David's best three?

Numero uno on the iTunes Singles Chart. Ingredient must've slipped back in.
