I'm watching but there's a terrible feeling of VAMPIRE with these talent shows; suck the blood from the talent to get big ratings.

Which is fine and generally I approve of them but it can seriously damage development.

I enjoyed the show - all 4 judges seem to truly love music.

Nope; I can't even remember the names of any contenders last time around (or last night, come to that).

But it's relatively innocuous entertainment, it features lots of music (hopefully Sarah McLachlan will sell loads today) and all 4 judges are bright, funny, enthusiastic about music and talented - in their own way (Tom Jones and I are old sparring partners).

I enjoyed it. I like that the comments are mostly positive and even the "rejects" were made a fuss of.
