In the late 90s as consultant to BMG I had huge rows with the staff at the label for them not breaking this track; for me one of the great songs and performances of all time.
I still feel that every time someone sings it (today on The Voice). I hate it when hits don't become hits.
To be fair, the label did seem to put a fair amount of money into Sarah McLachlan at the time to try and break her in the UK. I remember receiving in the post a cassette with 6 of her songs plus a bunch of photographs of her in different looks, with a survey asking which tracks I liked best and which looks I preferred for her... just another one of those artists who fell in between the cracks I suppose...
