I've said it before on this board; I reckon The Hollies are the best and most under rated group of the Sixties. Along with some others like The Searchers, someone should make sure these terrific 60s bands are honoured at a future BRITS (chance would be a fine thing that such a torpid event would ever get imagination involved again).
I agree about The Hollies. The problem is the current band only features two of the members who were in the band in their hayday. (Tony Hicks and Bobby Elliott). The two members who are most associated with the band (Graham Nash and Allan Clarke)no longer perform with The Hollies.
Perhaps we really should concentrate on forming something like a UK version of a "Hall of Fame" type event.
Lets face it, there are scores of artists/bands in from the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s, who have never been honoured, but are still around.Too many to list here, but I'd love to see other tipsters suggestions.
Marmalade, Vanity Fare, Strawbs, Nashville Teens, Love, Jan and Dean, Zombies, Soft Machine, Curved Air, The Shoes, Frijid Pink, The Shoes,Zager and Evans should of been more than one hit wonders.
