Taylor Swift's new album is dreadful 3 Weeks, 1 Day ago
Lyrically it's a woman in her thirties pretending to be a teenager. It stinks. Musically it doesn't exist. Repetitions and repeated riffs; no melodies; tired hooks; boring beats. So why is it selling so well? It isn't. It's streaming billions which costs nobody anything and most tune out after ten seconds. It sells to her thousands of fans who love the way she looks and her romances and her battles with record labels (who should know better - Republic, her current label, exists thanks to me and Chumbawamba) and don't care what the music sounds like as long as it's Taylor. TAY...LOR!!! I must admit I've only heard nine or ten tracks so far but I'll hear the rest over the next few days but I can tell you already - it's awful. Someone who got her own way like Hitler and thinks she can knock off decent songs in a few minutes between cocktails and cock. Producers who dare not tell her "It's crap; come up with some tunes". Nobody cares - it's making money. Not Beatles money. Not Ed Sheeran money (at least he can write tunes). Not Adele money (at least she can sing). But loadsacash in today's bleak musical world. Ask anyone who isn't a BTS fan (pretty boys) to name a BTS title - they can't. Ask anyone who isn't a Taylor Swift fan (pretty middle aged woman) to name one of her hits. They can't. No mass appeal. She will be forgotten like One Direction the minute the next fake, manufactured "star" comes along. She'll be in movies next. Then marry. Then divorce. But never in music. Like a brief gust of wind. Or a fart.

She must be doing something right
"Taylor Swift officially landed on Forbes’ billionaires list on Tuesday, April 2. But what distinguishes the 34-year-old singer-songwriter from other wealthy artists is how she accumulated her billion-dollar fortune...In a rare feat, Swift is the first musician to reach the milestone solely from songwriting and performing. Her fortune doesn’t largely derive from profitable side hustles (think: beauty brands, fashion lines, alcohol investments, etc.), which have been typical avenues for entertainers to become billionaires in recent years. This puts her in a unique category with artists like Bruce Springsteen, who earned $1 billion from on the road touring."
