I'm very late reading this - I tend to consume books either during the summer or over Christmas.

But I have just finished it and it's terrific. His best yet, I think; and he's very clearly "one of us".

A difficult topic, about a female judge losing her husband and making complex decisions, but beautifully written and incredibly intelligent as well as compulsive reading.

Thoroughly recommended.
