Never understood how the same people who cried in the street at Michael Jackson's death would happily rip Glitter limb from limb. I notice the disgraced journalist Caitlin Moran advocates picking up children and waving them about like objects in an apparent attempt to 'tempt' someone. Child abuse?

..and the disgraced (mocks the disabled for cash)and mostly unfunny Frankie Boyle has weaved in the new Titanic with Glitter in a desperate attempt to be controversial.

Twitter shows up so many people as being absolutely certain that we should be so impressed by their irelevent mutterings which we must hear minute by minute.

I tweeted this to that account yesterday but didn't get a response:

It appears to be genuine having analysed the tweeets from it - and I really look forward to the warts&all autobiography promised - but it would appear GG remains as he always was - defiantly self-aggrandising with little humility. I think if GG wrote a biography it would be a Kindle etc bestseller.

Note how the entire media has perpetuated the fantasy that GG toured "pedo haunts" like Cuba..charming insult to Cuba with no basis in fact and yet GG is still free to travel there.

I said it before...not one single person has emerged from (even the UK) to claim assault...only those in Asia where they'll sell their soul for ten quid.

And not one single 'journalist' including that c*nt Caitlain Moron ( God help us if each generation we are going to have a new 'Julie Burchill' imposed upon us )has questioned why GG was able to pay to have charges reduced.

So the law in Vietnam is a constantly moving moral mess that depends on what cash is available..and still c*nts likle D.Orr on the Guardian and that prat in Thailand who was behind the GG witch hunt pontificate that the courts in Asia are 'incorruptible".,.only when it suits of course.

Cheers Chris. A fascinating read indeed. I admit I too was taken in by the salacious headlines some 13 years go I believe it was now. I believe Glitter made a mistake in downloading the images he confessed to. The media aggression against him fuelled by the very nature of the images. Pre pubescent children involved in sado masochistic torture scenes.

It was a dreadful mistake on Glitter's part. But I believe that is all it was. I do not believe the man physically abused any child. What followed was clearly a campaign of harassment fuelled by the British media and sad unfortunates willing to lie in order to make a few bucks...re: his time in Thailand/Vietnam.

I've had quite a few comments to my blog... some of which were good, some semi-accepting (we are talking 13 years of media conditioning I suppose) and many just can't get it into their fogged heads that having a objective opinion on this that goes against the grain of public/tabloid 'opinion' does not make one an advocate of child 'porn', child sex or a lover of Gary Glitter. Most of the criticisms I have replied to by pulling them apart with facts. I have no time for idiocy and I have no time for silly revisionism on the call of some gobshite journalist who helped line GG's pockets for 20 years by giving him so much publicity.

Oh for Chris Morris to do another Brass Eye - Leveson, the tabloids, so much going on that needs to be out there in the form of sharp satire.
