Buried away on p 27 of the Sun... 17 Years, 6 Months ago
the good news that tragic Mum Marianne Williams was innocent of killing her baby with salt.

The CPS and Police squirm uncomfortably as yet another case they should never has prosecuted is rejected after 3 years of hell for the poor 24 year old.

But they don't squirm that much. Nobody knows who they are; there's no accountability; it's all general stuff, no specific blame... off they go to get the next dozen false allegation victims and boost their conviction rates with innocents who cannot prove their innocence.

And the media (who love the Vile Mother Murders Own Baby headlines on their front pages) believe the public don't want to hear non stories (she never did it) and move on to the next victim.

Makes you sicker than eating salt, dunnit?

Indeed...

don't forget the 'expert' witnesses who make a mint from bad science. Remember the Cot Death 'Expert' who's poor command of statistics got him a knighthood and a steady old living putting innocents away (some are still awaiting appeal).

Even when cleared, they have to put up with the suspicion of 'there's no smoke without fire' that hoi poloi seems so fond of applying... until it's their sister in the dock...

A lot of statistics based medicine is little better than voodoo... in fact I'd sooner trust a bag of chicken bones than the mathematical abilities of most medical students who were my contemporaries...

BTW, the story made the front page of the BBC News web site...

I tend to avoid print media like the plague. It doesn't even have the redeeming quality of being soft , strong and absorbent

I see the police have also dropped the porn pics claim too 17 Years, 6 Months ago
The innocent man - who was shot in the Forest Gate "terror" raids (when 250 police raided the house) - and was subsequently accused of having indecent pics on his computer - has been told that there will be no charges !

There should be LOTS of charges ! - against the people who organised this 2.2M blunder and then tried to smear the innocent man who had been shot !

I'm glad you spotted this ITK; I meant to mention it too.

And like the case above, we both know the disgraceful truth; nobody will be prosecuted for this appalling blunder.

This story worries me immensely as my 7 week son has been born with kidneys not in the best of condition although they are working fine at the moment. If he does pass on due to this, are we going to get a Policeman at our door wanting to launch an investigation? It's absolutely horrifying.

You have our sympathies Steve, small babies are hard enough work anyway, without worrying about health problems, but the last thing to worry about at this time is police problems, just do everything that you can do for the littlun, it is a very exciting time when you look back on it,of which I have this priveledge, but exhausting currently for you I`m sure.
The word "policeman", on this thread, does not have a capital "P", I feel, good luck with your big current adventure, and I hope all is well. Keep us informed, and stay strong.

It did make the cover of the Daily Mail... but it looks like they have the exclusive from the mother.

Ah, the joys of bottom feeding press... I think we should have a publication called The Daily Schadenfreude. At least the title would be honest...

Good Luck with everything .... could be a good idea to make sure your doctor is aware of any small problems (however small) so there is a trail of evidence.

Thanks for the kind thoughts. He is a blessing and a blessing we didn't expect to have, given the reports on him pre-birth.
