The public's thirst for change in Washington has Republicans pondering how bad things will be in the Nov. 7 election and calculating whether they can stop Democrats from picking up the 15 House and six Senate seats needed to claim majorities.

"This is the most challenging environment for Republicans since the Watergate year of 1974," said Republican political consultant Whit Ayres, referring to the loss of 48 House seats after the resignation of disgraced Republican President Richard Nixon.

Point of order...

The Americans are not dumb... simply ill educated, venal, profiteering and suffer a piss poor electoral system. Basically what our sundry Governments have been working toward since St. Margaret Hilda took the throne, and her spaniel lick turd followers have pursued that target with vigour ever since...

The 655,000 already dead? Or the 100+ that die every single day maybe?

btw - Here's what Reuters predicts for the Election in Arizona -

With immigration a burning issue, border state of Arizona features a top Senate race and two competitive House races, while popular Democratic Gov. Janet Napolitano appears to be cruising to re-election. Two-term Republican Sen. Jon Kyl holds a lead in polls over former state Democratic Party head Jim Pederson. The retirement of Republican Rep. Jim Kolbe sparked a battle focused on immigration, while Republican Rep. J.D. Hayworth has a surprisingly difficult re-election fight.

Ever seen the Comedy Central 'The Daily Show' ep where they edited together a debate between President George W. Bush, and Senator George W. Bush, TX.?

Well worth digging up if you've not...
