I haven`t been to Soho myself for about five years, there used to be this fantasticly rude Chinese restuarant, which I think was called The Won Key, where you got served what they wanted to serve you , and if you complained you were asked to leave! A great gimmick that actually packed the place out.
I never had the nerve to go back to that one, it was most humiliating.
Great place though and a great buzz.
Have you been to Hamburg Rusty? I first went there for the 50th anniversary of the Star club and played with many sixties legends Tony Sheridan,Scotty Moore and many more were on the same bill. The rows backstage at some point between the Liverpool bands who were now in their 60`s were memorable, they had not let some topics lie since their teen years.
If you require any tales on those guys , please ask, as a 60`s fan myself, I was in absolute heaven, and really didn`t appreciate the elevation of my status at the time as I had suffered a flight from Stanstead with an absess in my mouth.
I did a full 15 years on the road, and allways was waiting for time to reflect, which I now have, and there is more to come, as I am only middle aged!
