Many more on here than on the other industry boards (including the Tipsheet board).

Clearly this attracts visitors interested in a wider range of discussion than just music.

Sad in a way, though. Illustrates that MUSIC is less and less something important at all times (even last year the boards were busy over Christmas).

But, again, loads of silent readers (at one point on Christmas Day there were, amusingly, 365 visitors to the Tipsheet board - all reading; none posting!).

Our visits numbers remain very high; threads still are dominated by a few handfuls of loyal and literate posters.

Thank God for you, I say!

This time last year the Tipsheet board was the busiest I seem to recall.
The lack of music interest definetly waned after the demise of TOTP.
The weekly "pops" thread made way for the "Weekly X-Factor Whinge and Chringe", which didnt inspire as many posters.
The first time I saw the show I was lost for written words and instead picked the phone up and ranted!
The "Gardening is the New Rock n Roll" thread in the summer attracted a lot of replies. I thought one of the regular posters was having a laugh with me until I actually saw his fantastic borders!
This is the only message board where the posters are actually like coloumnists, this could be why we have more readers than posters, but hey readers, don`t be shy, you must all have something to say.

The interest in music currently is all a bit techy, it all downloads and delivery. X-Factor is the music scene for now. There doesn't seem to be a music buzz going on.

Probably the way it always is, things wax and wane.

I would love to tip more songs but I don't hear things that I'd post here. Some OK stuff but not anything that grabs me, apart from the Crocodiles track I posted... oohhh... ages ago now and that was 1 of 200 demos I listened to.

Even in this quiet time this board is doing a good job of keeping interest going, albeit in other topics, which has got to be a good thing.

There must be music ready to fill the current gap that we'll hear in 2007. There will be some zooloo-music soon now I've closed down one band and am starting another. Giving people a chance to comment on my stuff, return the "favour"

As the year comes to a close I would like to thank everyone here, I popped in and stayed without realising. It has been one of the outstanding forums of the year for me - Cheers to all.

Oh... a bit of music from yesteryear, I've been introduced to the music of Tim Buckley and so far rather like it -

Wishing you all a slightly early Happy New Year.

Yes, TOTP was ended at entirely the wrong time. It had grown stale because the pop chart had become stale. Single sales were at an all time low; every number one was a new entry, whatever number a song entered at was usually as high as it was going to get, and there was a lack of excitement or anticipation. Then came the inclusion of downloads which gave the charts renewed zap. If the people behind TOTP had posessed any amount of foresight then they would have held on a while longer before scrapping the show. There is much more interest in the charts now. A song can enter fairly low down but still climb to the top ten, just like the old days.

This board was one of the few places where people continued to enthuse about music. It shall, I hope, always be that way. Perhaps that is why so many people visit.

I was at least one of the 365... I had nothing to say. Sorry.
