Absolutely dire. Do not book your Russian trip, if you want to follow England. Probably the most average English squad in history. The EPL's best players are from abroad. I think the best English strikers are in the Championship and even Martin O'Neill hasn't picked the best Irish players.

If they give me a free hand I bet I could pick a winning England team by the next competition. There are enough talented players, throughout all the leagues.
