Actually, JK, in response to your Attidudes and Opinions article, there wasn't any phone voting at all in the 1996 Eurovision, Gina G.'s year. It was only a pilot scheme in 1997 when Katrina won, with 5 or 6 countries televoting, so she would have won either way. I do take your point that Gina would have walked the contest with phone votes though.

I may be confused here. I remember my FIRST priority was to change the rules on backing tracks (after Love City Groove did so badly). Then I shifted over to phone votes and thought we tested it in 4-5 countries in 96, then grew it in 97 but you may be right Anthony.

I'm getting old, Alzheimers, senility, tired, 62...

Maybe you were voting on the Song For Europe, Mart, but there was definitely no phone voting in the 1995 contest. Trust me, I'm a very very sad man who knows these things about Eurovision!
