I found this absolutely horrifying - aged 42, the eventual victim of a gross miscarriage of justice.

False allegations kill.
Immoral persecution in order to get headlines and convictions and promotion and praise KILLS.

The police, "expert" witnesses and CPS have blood on their hands.

As does every fucking juror at her trial. They know who they are. They sent an innocent mother to jail for 4 years before - thanks be to one solicitor who cared enough to get involved free of charge, because she believed - she was released.

Only to die now.

The judge at her trial should be sent to jail for life.
As should the prosecutors and police involved.

It makes me feel physically sick.

I couldn't agree more,JK, though maybe not about the jurors. They don't want to be there probably, and certainly are ill equipped to deliver an informed verdict.

They are of random intelligence, no legal background and exposed to the evil of the press.

Is it time we were rid of the jury system? Would we be better off in the hands of our judges though?

You're right Anthony; jurors don't want to be there. But they represent us and should acquit if there is any doubt at all.

My jury now have on their conscience that I have a cast iron alibi I was on another continent at the time of one of my alleged crimes.

When I was told to do jury duty - many times in my early life - I agreed and pointed out that, on a matter of principle, I would vote NOT GUILTY in all cases as I did not consider myself able to call another human being guilty.

They always decided not to use me.

We are all capable of deciding whether or not to judge another person. If we choose to do so, and are eventually proven wrong, I think we should be accountable.

Those original jury members have Sally Clark's blood on their hands. They deserve to suffer as murderers.

Just as we all deserve to suffer (and we will) for paying for and electing men and women who chose to murder innocent Iraquis. In our name, for our reasons.

We have blood on our hands too, for letting them get away with it.

Just like those who turned a blind eye when the Nazis murdered the Jews.

My letter to the paper.

Geoffrey Wansell's excellent article on the tragic death of Sally Clark must have touched the hearts of everyone who read it. And he did not shy away from the word needed to be stressed in all miscarriages of justice - ACCOUNTABILITY. No-one will be punished for this. Not the police who now routinely bend the rules in order to get convictions, not the CPS, not the Judges, not the Jurors, not the prosecution lawyers, not the media and not us, who allow these appalling situations to develop.
The same week that other innocent parents were cleared of poisoning their son with salt, I have to tell you that I met dozens of people in prison I believed were equally innocent of their convictions.
Indeed, I am continuing to battle to get my own wrongful convictions overturned on appeal.
This is the worst aspect of the British judicial system and it is growing. Every day you hear of more liars being convicted of trying to pervert the course of justice by making false allegations.
As a society we must do something fast or there will be many more Sally Clarks. Remember, her case was just the tip of the iceberg. The vast majority have neither the resources nor the energy to battle against miscarriages of justice. Our laws not only allow but encourage such tragedies.
How hard is it to prove that you didn't do something that never happened?

In the Sally Clark case, as in many others, the CPS, police, and expert witnesses definitely deserve to suffer as murderers. This represents an evil in society which MUST be addressed immediately. How many more innocent victims have to suffer?

Whether one human has the right to judge another is a different moral issue. I also believe we don't, but I'm not sure of the alternative. There are some guilty people too, from whom society needs to be protected.

It is so important to stop innocent people having to face "justice" in the first place, rather than to dwell on holding accountable reluctant jurors who may be guilty of nothing more than stupidity, and an inability to think through the consequences of their actions.

I don't think Jurors can be held responsible.

They probably had no knowledge of statistics so took Meadow's exaggerated claim on face value.

I think often the jury follow firstly the Judge's summing up and then it's the the dominant personality in the jury room.

It was a 17 day trial - if for 17 days I was bombarded with information on a subject I knew nothing about shrouded in obscure language and occult procedure, then it is demanded that I come to some conclusion - if I came to the wrong conclusion is that my fault?

In this case it seems to me to be Professors Green and Meadow are the accountable ones. But lets face it - what hell do I know?

I can feel the tide turning.

Even the most bigotted, blinkered right wingers are being shaken by this dreadful news and are starting to realise just how many innocent people are having their lives ruined by false accusations and malicious prosecutions.

When they look at the accusers, ranging from fake experts who have built careers out of pretending to know facts, to police trying to gain convictions, CPS desperate to up their figures and the ghastly liars, who blame their drug and drink problems on abuse whilst pocketing cash and acting out emotional falsehoods badly, suddenly the public are beginning to smell a rat or two.

Just as, after the recent ghastly Ch4 show about me, I got dozens of messages from total strangers who saw serious mental problems and very revealing body language in my false accusers, so this awful tragedy has alerted millions to what is really going on.

Just today two false accusers - Kerry Doyle (9 months) and Sarah Mealing (12 months suspended) were found guilty.

Ch4 news had a big section on innocent people in prison. Donna Anthony also came across as articulate and sensible. Check out the Sunday papers tomorrow.
