What were they supposed to do?

Ignore the allegations?

He was an experienced politician - well used to fighting his corner.

He chose not too (so the sordid details would not be heard by his family).

I wonder how many more may have come forward .... ?

I've been disappointed by some of the 'lefty' websites I read which have accused the Mail of biased reporting (which of course they do) and a blind acceptance of how this was handled.

There can be no justification for firing someone on such a serious matter without giving them the so-called evidence.

I've always said it..so Has JK (usually reading my mind) that it will be the Conservative side of politics that will eventually tackle the false (or real) allegations industry that lead to such witch-hunts. The Left seems terrified of doing anything.
