##The US senator Al Franken has been accused of something very mundane but my Capitol spy disguised as a Kentucky Fried Chicken deliverer to the Oval Office tells me his accuser is gradually being uncovered as Republican voter and operative and the whole thing seems to have been bungled by an attempt to divert attention from Roy Moore.

Especially as that creepy Roger Stone stupidly tweeted the day before what was about to happen.

Now Franken has asked the House Committee to investigate himself which means they can subpoena people on threats of jail etc which means people can be grilled as to communications etc...and if it looks like a plot there can be serious repercussions.

Suddenly Franken's accuser -who he only (stupidly) feigned to grope - has back peddled like crazy saying she's "forgiven" him but too late (she claims he kissed her but subsequently a script was found which she had signed agreeing to the kiss as part of a rehearsal in front of a dozen people)

This can draw in who knew what and even Donald Trump who idiotically tweeted something about Franken as well.

Such strategies require amazingly clever thinking that seems absent so far from the UK where so many have almost been destroyed by false or exaggerated accusations.
