TOPIC: Porn, Media, Cops, Green
#169638
Porn, Media, Cops, Green 6 Years, 4 Months ago
A total non story except illustrating how the media only want a good story ignoring truth or responsibility and police - retired or not - will say and do anything to assist that media goal; as I told Leveson years ago.

I'm totally shocked by the retired cop revealing the contents of a computer that was searched 9 years ago. As long as he found nothing illegal (which he didn't), he shouldn't reveal what he found as this is a total breach of data protection laws.

Excellent article by Oborne - of course, ten years ago cops regularly planted porn on computers - it was the modern equivalent of them "finding" drugs on searches but as new technology arrived with the ability to backup on the Cloud (why do you think that cop asked Cliff if he was on the cloud, which confused the poor dear) and other places, plus the removal of forensics away from police into private companies (check out Manchester) they couldn't do it these days without proof being able to be found very easily. Look how fast they dropped the Rolf Harris claims.

Peter Oborne is probably correct about Labour politicians trying to make political capital from this non story but wouldn't the Tories be just as likely to do the same if it was a Labour politician under the spotlight? Aren't there other ways of dealing with the dangerous escalation of tension this is generating such as mediation instead of battling it out in the media arena? Aren't there other issues in more urgent need of attention such as the alarming state of the prisons?

Kate Hoey was on any questions last night stating how terrible it was that the police were revealing their findings from 9 years ago, not to the official authorities, but to the media.
