Life On Mars 17 Years, 1 Month ago
Still patchy but when it's inspired... the Candlewick Green sequence was probably the best single TV moment of the year so far and Gene Hunt/Philip Glenister is a gem.

How sad am I? I still have a trimphone in use.

Just call me Hunt.

No jokes now.

Oh, and for know-it-alls... from the Trumpton website...

Wasn't Camberwick Green originally called Candlewick Green ?
Yes. When the first contract came back from the BBC, someone had changed the name to Camberwick Green (presumably by mistake), and it was left that way.

I seem to recall a band named Candlewick Green.

Anyone else spotted that Phillip Glenister is doing the v/o for the new Sound of the 70's comp, which incidentally has some excellent and unusual tracks on it,including the King Singers' wonderful cover of 'Life on Mars'.

You recall right... but would you want to?

The band back in 1977 - long live punk!

Of course you would want to remember them Zooloo!

Candlewick Green originally did Who Do You Think You Are? as covered by St Etienne many moons later!

I love both versions and I am often see driving round singing my head off to the song in my car!

Life On Mars - terrific again last night though not enough Gene Hunt witticisms; that character has really developed into a giant (surely there will be a spinoff).

How much is script and how much Philip Glenister, one wonders.
