Now there's something odd here, Zoo.
My Mum gets HER milk in bottles too.
Could it be they are targeting the elderly?
or, more like, that my diet (for 15 years I've been low fat spread, totally skimmed milk) only comes in plastic?

The Cat

Our local village post office sells milk in glass bottles.

I don't really miss the glass bottles, but I do miss when the bluetits used to peck the tops off in winter to get at the cream.

Probably the only people who get their milk delivered are pensioners probably from habit.

I know mine gets hers delivered more out of sympathy for the milkman than anything else. She'd feel mean cancelling.

BTW I'm going to tell my mum you called her elderly! Watch out!

I`m afraid I don`t miss the bottles piling up, but I must say the cartons in the bin infuriate me.

Does anyone remember the "milk bags" in the late seventies?
I used to work in a supermarket at the time and they were an absolute nightmare, as they would arrive and half of them had split.
They came with a little blue pouring jug which was allways out of stock and even if you followed the correct instructions you would end up with half a pint of milk on the floor!

Another thread altogether, actually and a TV programme.
"The Top 20 Most Useless Inventions".
The Milk Bag is definetly in there for me, I even used to bring the things home for my Mum to freeze!(They split of course in the freezer!)

But, that all said, I miss their incompetance..

A Nonny Mouse

Kenny on Capital 194. Crisp spring morning walks in Richmond Park with the frost white on the ground and the sun shining. No Parrots then... Do you ever get frosts down there now?
regards Nonny ( Comes from a Tom and Jerry of course, but you've guessed that. I miss Hanna Barbera and Snoopy too...)
