I thought London was according to JK.

York - with a c200k population - has an unusually high crime rate.

Historically interesting - but crimes of violence and anti-social behaviour are disproportionately high.

Putting the City into the UK top-six, in several police/crime league tables and statistics.

My favourite cities to look at in Britain are Bath and Edinburgh. Yes, I do love London despite all; I love New York too; my favourite cities to visit are Paris and Rome but Fes and Rabat are up there (Morocco has about six of my top twenty cities in the world; each totally different from each other).

Certainly agree on Bath - only a 100 miles from London.

Aquae Sulis etc. - with Bath Abbey, Pump Room, the Roman Baths all in close proximity.

The most historic UK city. Georgian society flocked to it - and many others, going back to the Romans.

With the help of the honey-coloured stone - Bath has done, by far, the best - in seamlessly blending the old and the modern.

Other towns and cities (like Leeds, for example) should have their engineers and architects visit Bath - to learn...
