I think you will find that where the abuse of youngsters is proven is not limited or defined to a particular form of sport ITK; football is just more high profile. Not only are deaths (of this kind) not exclusive to sports gatherings, music venues/events have a higher overall mortality rate.

Just two examples of music event fatalities.


At Southgate, Kentucky - 165 people died in May 1977.

At Buenos Aires, Argentina - 194 died in December 2004.

Security is primarily the responsibility of the home/host team.
