TOPIC: I'm SOO old - or perhaps not.

I'm SOO old - or perhaps not. 5 Years, 3 Months ago
I go swimming and forget to take my very NOT waterproof digital watch off! Ruined; doesn't work. So... I take it apart; dry all parts; put it back together again - and it now works perfectly! Perhaps I'm not as senile as I thought.

Well done Doctor King....you mentioned digital watches, which seem to have gone out of fashion in recent times....brought back memories of a handsome Roger Moore in Live and let Die with his very 'cool' laser watch....very useful tool to avoid those nasty Crocs....1973...I too must be old to remember such a long time ago.

My £100 watch - plays music, tells me who's ringing me, takes my text/voice messages, sends automatic responses to phone calls and texts etc.

It also stores my contacts, tells me how long I slept and walked, gives me my heartbeat (and other health data), wakes me up, acts as a torch light - and more.

It also tell me where I am - with the time, date, local radio and temperature. Now, I looking for a model which will eat my dinner, and burp.

Did you buy it in the Colebrook?

It's one of those LED Sports ones - very useful during the night! My other one is Diesel. Two watches? Why not - two wrists.

Diesel, Nike ? How common.

I still have my Cartier Tank given to me by the late Kit lambert in lieu of wages and purchased on his Harrod's card which was removed from him the next time he went shopping there.

To think it only cost 300 quid at the time!

However now that the world is flooded with fakes (and so many good ones) it carries no style value as everyone assumes it's fake so now I love my common Casio.

My watch is a 'Samsung Galaxy Gear Fit 2 Pro Smart Watch' - smaller and slimmer than those pictured.

The amazing functions/features (some extremely helpful, in every day life) are largely dependent on your smartphone being in your pocket.

But everthing can be seen on your wrist. With the helpful ability to direct non-urgent calls to voicemail.

A significant number of its capabilities haven't been even discovered yet, by me - and it can be programmed to fulfil individual needs.

I find the 'step counter' helpful - in my quest to complete 10,000 steps a day, adding up to about 5 miles.

Experts/fans/geeks are eagerly awaiting the release of the new Fit 3.

Apple, I believe, also have iwatches - which look a bit like JK's Nike LED Watch.

I dropped my mobile in my coffee, a couple of years ago. I had to dry it out, but it still works.
My watch is wind-up analogue but, so far, I haven't dunked that in anything.

I'm told the JK/Nike watch is an Apple iwatch - just rebranded.

My wrist gadget keeps getting messages from 'papastalin'.

Uncanny, as it's my email addy; perhaps my watch has swam its course...
