I've done a complete turn on Brexit 5 Years, 2 Months ago
I'm still Remain but I reckon Britain now deserves the intense pain it is going to get.

The years and years of it. Probably decades.

The vast majority of public seem like total morons to me..or maybe they are the ones with the loudest voices. And that's just the politicians.

The general public who are screeching "NO DEAL BREXIT" really seem sub-normal to me.

Phony "patriots" all with their own little headspace of a Britain that mainly never existed (for them)as they rabbit on about some vague notion of "sovereignty" (whatever the fuck that means).

Great civilizations eventually crash and burn and more often than not, from within. It seems to me the USA & UK are heading for ginormous crashes from which recovery will be almost impossible.

They've gotten too big. Too many people. It's all unsustainable.

Obama said the banks were "too big to fail" but actually the UK & US are too big not too fail. Nothing is permanent.

This is the end result of a rampant market economy that started with Thatcher / Reagan. We are now seeing the beginning of the end.

It will be a nightmare for all those millions of young people but perhaps they need their own WW2 to battle through and come out the other side stronger and tougher (unlike the combined nitwits that rabbit on about hat war as though they were there or Winston Churchill won it all by himself while ignoring the 9 million Russians, 400,000 Americans, 30,000 Aussies & Kiwis and the millions in Europe who died defeating the Nazis.

The combining of police, fantasists and the media to try and demolish a great war hero like Lord Bramall seems like an portent of how Britain has sunk into the gutter (never a mention of him..it was that racist Churchill what won the war)

I reckon the EU will become determined to consolidate itself and ensure there are no more Brexits.

I reckon they will reach out to young Britons, court them ..possible a scheme where those under 30 can travel as they did before while the oldies can just queue (but not me with my Irish passport).

I say bring it on. It's a gamble though. We may be entering the Age of Russia. (China will outstrip everyone else of course...I asked my father in the 70s what his advice was to succeed in the 21St Century and he said "learn Mandarin")

This is perhaps a paradigm shift that was inevitable as power evaporates in one place only to arise in another.

I don't think Corbyn will succeed (his Leave anyway) but the fix is in. The rich will prosper but they can just jump on a private jet and go anywhere.

The citizens have been successfully divided. I don't think there is any going back.

Fasten your seat belts.

I'm going to 'recline'...gracefully of course....in between fits of laughter

Nothing much will change in the event of a no deal brexit.....bit like a nuclear bomb...put on restraints to trade, and you blow your own foot off...We already have the EU guideline to a no deal....very little will change...you cannot 'punish' somebody else when you have twice the amount to loose....

....Germany just posted growth figures lower than the UK....France falling to pieces....Frau Merkel talking about 'solutions'.....can we imagine Macron explaining to the Yellow Vests he values 'EU Principles' more than French jobs?

I do most of my business in the far east....EU territory is an inflexible joke...getting more and more like Imperial Rome 409 AD....the public are not so stupid Hedda.....very few thought us joining the Euro currency made economic sense....yet you were making supporting noises for it right up to its crash.....I do love this forum....some of the best...and also some of the silliest opinions on the net....

www.thesun.co.uk/news/brexit/8444442/bre...transport-agreement/

'BREXPOSED Scare stories about transport chaos after No Deal Brexit demolished after EU chiefs agree secret deal with Britain to maintain links'

I do have this on good authority as true....no doubt a few old fart remainers will try to ridicule The Sun,but will have no answer to the fact it is true....

'British planes will continue to fly into Europe and lorries can drive on the continent, even if we leave without an agreement on March 29.

Two announcements slipped out by Brussels late on Friday expose “Project Fear” predictions of pandemonium as myths.

One will allow UK-based airlines to continue providing scheduled flights. The other will let road hauliers, coach and bus firms carry goods and passengers across the EU.

The contingency plan drawn up by the European Commission is on the condition that the UK offers the same rights to the EU.

Former Brexit Secretary Dominic Raab said: “It is welcome that the EU wants to agree reciprocal arrangements for a No Deal.

“This pierces the Project Fear myths and shows that the UK and EU can work sensibly together.”'

I'm going to go through the archives if time allows....and will have fun holding some posters to account for their predictions...

Bizarre dream last night in which I had somehow gotten myself on a panel debating Brexit in front of an open air crowd. At some point in the proceedings I asked the crowd if my accent sounded posh and was inwardly somewhat disappointed when they chorused 'no'.

Interesting comments Silent Majority & may I say very brave of you to dare contradict hedda !

Actually I hope you are right !

I don't want bad things to happen to the UK.

I still think the vast majority of Leave voters were conned.

Why it had to be sold on so many furphies is a mystery.

And of course the young ..anyone from age 1 to 20..every single one of them..it's they who will wear the result whether it's postie or negative.

For oldies (who still look and act like they are 39) like me it's not going to really affect.

And if you are correct I will humbly apologize ( as if )

I thought you were younger..... ...But don't worry, even the IMF got Brexit wrong...as did the Chancellor....they of course told no lies on the remain side....and Project Fear MK?....lost count....all getting proved wrong....but of course Leave told lies....Remain just got it a bit wrong....

....A Good Evening to you sir....leave the politics to us old fools, while you were spending your youth looking lavish, and mixing with the gorgeous and famous we were slaving away studying, and being involved in politics....we may have far more political knowledge and understanding....but we could never be as sexy as you...
