TOPIC: R Kelly

R Kelly 5 Years, 1 Month ago
The same as M Jackson, J Savile, C Richard, J Davidson, C Street - whether ending badly or well, whether Spacey or Tarbuck, Gambo or Weinstein, Cosby or Heath - Chinese whispers; a nice juicy bit of (totally false) gossip. I remember Richard Gere and the hamster rubbish. Or was it a gerbil? Marianne and the Mars Bar. Madness, unnecessary, lunacy. Society needs to grow up.

And these days the law and the media condone and encourage false allegations. After all, what is there to lose (especially if the victim is dead)? It's a great story; that's all that matters. Watch Robert Kelly freak out live on TV! Watch Cliff Richard in agony! Watch Daniel Janner and his family be destroyed by attacks on his innocent father! Roll up Roll Up; Destroy Kevin Spacey! Ruin Rolf Harris! Oh it's all such fun. And if someone's dead? Who cares? We can wreck the families. Such fun. Innocent relatives ruined. Oh what japes. Humanity has become very nasty indeed. Kick Harvey Proctor in the balls. Oh entertainment is so much better than the boring old Christians and Lions. Bread and circuses? No - sex and celebrities; that's 2019.

R Kelly appeared 100 times more genuine and plausible in his interview, than those in the witch hunt documentaries. There was a scene in the ghastly “BBC 3 documentary “Sex Lies and Videotape” where the mother of one the girls’, living at R Kelly’s house, is wailing like a banshee behind a closed bedroom door. She’s either completely unhinged or It’s a draw droppingly staged scene for maximal emotional manipulation. Either way I was thinking it was vital for her daughter to stay at R Kelly’s for her own safety and sanity. Western society has clearly fallen into a collective psychosis.

I don't think R. Kelly did himself any favours. Losing control and throwing a tantrum on camera doesn't really help if you want people to think you wouldn't lose control/cross boundaries in other ways behind closed doors.

But on the other hand, rather like John McEnroe, don't you rather like people who can't help wearing their hearts on their sleeves?

It's one of the great contributions to our culture of the sainted Diana Spencer.
