Without a doubt Diane Abbott IS the most racially harassed MP in Britain.
I like her. My English pals don't but they verge on racism and don't even understand they do at times.
But.. and a very Big But..the bloke that filmed her and sent the pic to the (hideous revolting) Sun Newspaper BROKE THE LAW AS WELL.
He is the "former police detective" the revolting Sun newspaper alludes to but here are the facts:
He is an ex-plod who was forced into retirement for his homophobic & racist tweets.. Mike Neville.
However: he also broke Transport for London laws by not asking for permission to film and distribute photographs ( don't believe me..look them up) from Tif.
Common sense would tell you that all activity on trains is legislated including blowing your nose.
Perhaps The Sun also breached those laws by publishing the photographs.
Mike Neville claims he is an "expert on CCTV filming" on his private dick website
Neville Forensic Recognition Ltd
Is he in the habit of (illegally) filming people on trains without permission? Could this affect court cases if "evidence" was gathered unlawfully?
You heard it first but won't hear it anywhere else as the attack on Diane Abbott did not go the way The Sun newspaper expected rather it proved to be a damp squib.

Thing is if we drank in public like this, our booze would confiscated and maybe we have to pay a fine.
One rule for politicians another rule for us.
No- if you were drinking in public in a prohibited place the worst that would happen is a cop would ask you to stop. If you refuse of course the matter may progress to something more serious.
the worse that would happen is Diane would be asked to stop drinking.
If she refused she would be asked to leave the train at the next stop..
No fines.
The greater crime here are by The Sun newspaper and by Mike Neville.."world CCTV export" who breached Transport for London rules on filming and distributing photos without prior permission and also breached Government data laws and possibly causes a very real danger for a senior MP whereby people now known her travel movements.
Of course the whole matter will be let fade away as it didn't necessarily go to the racist homophobic ex-cop's desire (forced into retirement for those reasons) nor the ghastly Sun as people are now holding Majito parties on the trains (breaching rules of course) and even die hard ant-Abbott fans are saying "who cares ?"
## on the positive side- apparently M&S are having boom sales of Majitos..all down to Diane

Boozing on the train is a bit grim
Why?
The train I commute on, in the UK south east, sells alcoholic beverages.
Its quiet common everywhere, I think.

Does she have a secret drinking problem ?
But why - alcohol is sold on many/most UK trains
Legally and enjoyable
Why the fuss...I had a G&T today on the way home to London (yes, on a train)...

It is a bit different if you are in the dining car at a table, but swigging booze from a can on a crowded tube in the daytime gives the impression that you might be a bit of a plonky.
If I understand the situation correctly Honey she was on a train run by London overground...not underground...but perhaps she was 'Wombling free'?
Anyway it would appear such trains have an alcohol ban, while regular trains actually sell it to you,and as such encourage you to drink as a result...if of course you can afford their prices?
The questions raised by her actions boil down to did she know there even was a law about drinking?...

I would imagine she did. I dont live in London, never use the trains if I am there, live in my own little world not noticing anything, yet even I knew about it.
But she might have just been thirsty and had it handy in her bag. If it was planned she would probably have had food with it , being diabetic.
Technically she could be in charge of law and order anytime soon...hence she should be seen not breaking rules....but she's never pushed herself as some type of goody goody etc...and there are two types of trains...some you can drink on,some you cannot...I rarely use trains much myself....and do not drink alcohol...so totally irrelevant to me...I poke much political fun in the way of the hapless Abbott...but this time it's just being silly...and possibly a slow news day.
Enjoy your day Honey.
