TOPIC: Trolls and Danny Baker
#188881
Trolls and Danny Baker 6 Years, 2 Months ago
Leaving aside the absurd over reaction by the BBC, spurred on by tabloids and trolls - let's be delighted that the trolls are being exposed so frequently these days. They have always been around but social media has given them the (they think) safety of anonymity. Bonkers loonies think Proxies protect them. It used to be Green Ink Merchants. Over the garden fence gossip housewives. Sneer; bitch; rumours. This spite runs through the veins of many instead of blood. Bile. They can never see it in themselves - like vampires they do not get reflected in mirrors. Vile creatures; small, pathetic, acidic, nasty, petty, bitchy. And Karma kills every one of them.

Of course, Trolls are one thing.

But this excellent and highly experienced broadcaster made a basic, uncharacteristic and serious error.

And rightly was given the red card.

He simply fell for the bait - for an obvious line/tack/route.

Which better professionals were avoiding the plaque.

It isn't uncharacteristic because he posts monkey pictures all the time, and we cant tell if the sacking is deserved without reading his mind.

Those of us not interested in football, who live in normal welcoming multi-racial cities, do not look at a monkey and think of a black person.

Nothing to do then with what be said/posted - and about which he's not very proud?

The BBC thought his remarks were unacceptable and crass - and so do most.

It would be difficult not to understand his meaning - which he admits, and apologises for.

Well, let's be honest. Sometimes the association works the other way around...

When did he state that his meaning was racist? I thought he said quite the opposite?

Correct!!!!!!

What he said was that he used the image without thinking about any possible racist connection but when it was pointed out to him he of course saw the problem/issue and deleted the tweet but by that time it had been retweeted and was in the public domain
