Mark Williams-Thomas: A Writer is Born!

I read this cover to cover in the space of a few hours. I have to say the author is a remarkable guy who seems to be making a great deal of difference to the families left behind after major crimes have been committed and, just for that fact alone, the book is worth every penny. I also found the book offered new perspective to me on cases I thought I knew and had made up my mind about. The information in the book really brought it home just how much “the tabloid effect” contributes to the way crimes are communicated to (or not) and perceived by the public, and even perhaps the outcome of those cases in court. A definite must-read for lovers of the true crime genre and perhaps a fantastic introduction to it for those yet to explore the fearfully fascinating, darkest and dustiest corners of the human condition.

A book about an amateur, written by an amateur

Murder and the investigation of murder is a fascinating subject which I know of only too well for I spent over 15 years of my Police Service involved in investigating a substantial number. To do so, I studied for the promotion exams, went on any number of courses, became accredited as an SIO and worked with and lead a number of teams and it was the teamwork and experience that solved a substantial number of crimes. This author was a Detective Constable who left at a very young age in service and was not an experienced Detective never mind an SIO. Until you have been there, seen it, done it then no one will ever know what it is like to have been in a room full of death, dealt with the families of victims first hand and stared evil in the face. The author has done none of these things and this book is nothing but an explosion of his ego. He is and always will be an amateur trying to make good in a professional world which is why this book is simply unbelievable

So remarkable he's acheived a big fat zero.

A great British contender for the Eurovision song contest though.

What could he possibly sing?

Ideas?
