Brilliant movie and Joaquin Phoenix guaranteed to win the Best Actor Oscar. Reminiscent of Network "I'm mad as hell and I'm not gonna take anymore".

I've heard that it's very dark and violent. Was it actually an enjoyable watch and was the JP character sympathetic?

It is very dark, very violent and unsettling; you come out of the cinema seeing the Climate protesters and think "should we become violent?". The main character is very sympathetic indeed. And fascinatingly real.

You should check out Todd Philips first ever film

HATED. The documentary about GG ALLIN...
If you aint ever heard about him....forget about ALL the so called crazy outragious frontmen ...
Without givin the game away..Todd Philips was in the room when GG Allin died....and he was dissapointed that he did not get to see him go out as he had planned....watch the documentary right now folks...☺

I remember seeing that at a film show in New York. I was never a fan however how first album is spectacular.
