This is apparently also called a Comanche moon in Texas. The Comanches would apparently launch attacks at full moon. This is according to a book I've been reading about the Comanches. It certainly doesn't paint them as peace-loving souls who wouldn't harm a fly, which seems to be the way we're now supposed to view Native Americans. It seems that they were very vicious and sadistic towards other tribes and whites, men women and children. If the book is reliable, the word "savages" seems quite apt and makes me wonder if those old films with the indians as the "baddies" were as justified as the more recent ones such as Dancing With Wolves portraying them in a positive light.

I think the old films are as justified as the more recent ones. The main difference is that the roles have been reversed. Every human ego has a positive and negative side. Danger arises when the positive side of the ego is seen and accepted as the whole truth. Is the image shown here really an image of a "full" moon?
