Ban On Fossil Fuel 4 Years, 2 Months ago
This makes no sense.

Hybrid cars should be allowed to stay around for longer.
This government are bloody farcical.

WTF are they replacing everything with?
Who can afford new fossil free motors? The second-hand ones will be difficult to source.
It was hard enough to buy a bloody diesel which they told people was better for the environment.

In fact, you had more luck getting an automatic car than a diesel.

UK to ban petrol and diesel vehicle sales from 2035

Electric cars give shit mileage. Try recharging them if you live in a house with street parking. I have driven hybrids and electric, hybrids are a lot safer and don't have to worry about losing power on a long journey.

What about electric buses that do 60+ plus miles round trips, will they be scrapped ?

Cars will be targeted because there is more of them.

Regards to mileage, I was never one for doing many miles. Electric vehicles would suit Sunday drivers or those who rarely drive.

It doesn't make sense to scrap them at the same time.
A phasing out process should be necessary with hybrids last to go. Or some might argue they should be kept. If one fails, you have a backup, depending on how the diagnostics and mechanicals work.

They will be phased out by 2035, that is 15 years away, not exactly overnight. Electric cars now have ranges of 279 miles, which is plenty for most journeys. Many people will not be able to recharge at home, like myself living in a flat. However most people currently don't have petrol station at home. There will be more and more charging stations, with petrol stations slowing allowing this facility. 15 years ago we would never have imagined that most people would have a smart phone. We really must change the way we live, eating less meat, having less children and using less fossil fuels or we will not have a world worth living in.

The UK have 20 years worth of oil in reserves. Or more ( going by some sources).
Does anybody know if the oil is in the UK yet?
If not, have they accosted the shipping fees?
Watch out for the next war!
These are questions that need to be asked.
Boris is a Billy bullshitter with all the Brexit soundbites.
It might work on his women, but it doesn't work in politics for those who know the full truth.

None of them.have told you the benefits. None. Why do you think that is?

Where I live there's nothing but street parking. It's first come first serve, if there was charging stations, there will be some killings and vandalism on the charging stations to prove a point.

Not everyone lives in a leafy pleasant place as the government and media like to point out.

On some journeys I do more than 279 round trips. When I travel to USA I travel just shy off a thousand miles.

No doubt you would stop during this trip, giving you the opportunity to re-charge, like you currently re-fill with fuel. We can't go on caning it for much longer, we have 11 years to overturn the climate catastrophe.

Refilling takes seconds - charging an electric car takes hours.

I don't know why you listen to elite, they all in it to Keep their coffers going. Scientists who have debunked climate change have been silenced by the MSM.

In the mid 1980s I was reading a newspaper article about the end of the world ending in 1990. We are still here.

All Robbie, I carry a filled Jerry Can in my car for emergencies, can't carry spares in an electric car.

On fast charge you can charge in 45 minutes, and on some prototype models 8 mins. If you can't spare 8 mins every 279 miles then I'm sorry for you.
