Yet another piece of proof that Carl Beech was just the tip of a massive iceberg. The Titanic that will sink society.

Nicola Sturgeon was not very generous in her comments about it.

She's had to be very careful; he's a friend and even a slightly sympathetic comment will allow their enemies to cry "pervert enabler" or "victim blamer".

Giving in to bullies doesn't help anyone in the long run.

Not too well up on Scottish politics - but I don't think that Alex would view Nicola as a friend, these days!

But the inevitable investigation(s) - by the SNP and, perhaps, others - will throw light on the background to this extraordinary list of accusations.

Made by numerous women (one allegedly a ring leader - who contacted the other accusers before the trial) - all involved in the Scottish political system.

On the steps of the court - after the trial - Alex intimated that more information would soon be made public.

Hopefully this will make things clear - and show Nicola's role (if any) in these matters, as well as that of others.

I interviewed Salmond on Talk Radio way back in the 1990's and told him he'd make a good PM, in my opinion, if only he could get rid of the silly Independence issue. These days, after Brexit, I am thoroughly in favour of both Scotland and Northern Ireland removing themselves from the SU (Stupid Union). As for Wales - no point. They have always been just a county of England with a silly name and language.

Most would agree on Northern Ireland, at least.

Bearing in mind, the UK Exchequer subsidises NI to the tune of £1 billion, every MONTH! Just to pay its bills.

Consequently, NI is smart enough to know it's going nowhere - why should they leave the UK when they receive this huge level of support?

The Republic of Ireland is barely surviving economically, and couldn't afford to annex NI - and, post-Brexit, the EU have zero interest.

NI will be a part of the UK for ever - a legacy of a decision made, about 100 years ago.

When It was decided to give independence to the Republic - and to keep NI, as part of the United Kingdom.
