TOPIC: Happy Birthday - Philip
#199302

Happy Birthday - Philip 2 Months ago
Born 99 years ago in Corfu, Philip is the oldest ever member of the royal family - and will spend the day at Windsor.

Philip became a Duke on his marriage to Elizabeth - and a Prince (in 1957), after she had become Queen. Both are descendants of Queen Victoria.

Much travelled, Chancellor of four universities and mentioned in dispatches during WW2 - Philip deserves a pleasant day.

Yes he should be wished a happy birthday.

But if the same "twitter morality" that we currently see attacking JK Rowling for pointing out that biological sex is immutable, and tearing down historical statues because fault has been found with one aspect of the icon's life, then every image of The Duke needs erasing from history and his name not mentioned.

I think the republican cause is being slow to realise the potential in the "imperialist", "racist" Royals narrative to harness the woke generation against them...

99 is a great age, but the Queen Mother was 102.
