Roy Plomley's castaway is broadcaster Jimmy Savile.

Jimmy Savile OBE began his career in the mines but, as a result of an accident, he took up dance hall management. In conversation with Roy Plomley, he describes how he became a disc jockey and talks about his very successful television series Jim'll Fix It.

Haha, I like that!

What a pity it's not possible to listen to the episode: "Sorry, this episode is not currently available". Yet the previous one (Richard Eyre) and the next one (Doris Stokes) are available. How odd. Or not. Is this part of the purging of Jimmy Savile by the BBC?
